I have spent more than a decade working across brand, editorial, education, nonprofit, and cultural spaces. That range has taught me something simple: talent does not become impact on its own. It needs language, access, strategy, relationships, and rooms designed with intention.
Allison Retina Stewart-Creeks is a creative director, curator, photographer, educator, author, and founder whose work centers the people, stories, and ideas that deserve to be seen.
Based in Houston, she has spent more than a decade working across brand, editorial, education, nonprofit, and cultural spaces. That range has shaped her belief that talent does not become impact on its own. It needs language, access, strategy, relationships, and thoughtfully designed rooms in which to grow.
Stewart-Creeks brings together visual storytelling, artist development, creative entrepreneurship, and community-centered cultural programming. She has shaped campaigns and editorial experiences for brands including Meta, Microsoft, IBM, Nike, and the NBA, while also directing exhibitions, artist residencies, public programs, and institutional partnerships.
Her commitment to developing creative talent extends beyond the projects she leads. Through portfolio reviews, mentorship, teaching, and professional development, she has supported artists in collaboration with FotoFest, PhotoNOLA, Photolucida Critical Mass, the International Center of Photography, Parsons School of Design, Diversify Photo, and Women Photograph.
In 2016, Stewart-Creeks founded Free Juice as a creative collective in New York and relaunched it as a nonprofit organization in 2021. Free Juice connects emerging BIPOC image-makers with mentorship, critique, industry access, and meaningful visibility—helping artists not only strengthen their work, but also find the language and resources needed to sustain a creative career.
She is the author of Artist Vision: Planning With Intention, Not Burnout, a workbook and workshop experience designed to help creatives build clarity, strengthen their professional language, and develop careers that do not require them to sacrifice themselves in the process.
Across every part of her practice, Stewart-Creeks returns to the same questions: Who gets seen? Who gets supported? Who gets remembered? And what structures do creative people need to keep building?
Today, she partners with brands, institutions, conferences, and creative communities through speaking, workshops, creative direction, curatorial projects, portfolio development, and cultural strategy.
